This site asks nothing of you. There is no account to create, no analytics running, no advertising, and no cookies — nothing about your visit is collected or stored.

The one moment a third party enters is when you press play on a talk: the video arrives from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, and nothing is sent there before that press. The rest of this page is the detail behind those two sentences.

SOHO Talks runs free talk nights in Malta, and this website is how you find them. For anything the site does with personal data, SOHO Talks is the data controller under EU data protection law — the GDPR — as it applies in Malta.

If anything on this page is unclear, ask. The contact page reaches a human.

The form on the contact page is not connected to anything yet. Nothing typed into it is sent or stored anywhere — today, the send control does nothing at all.

Before the form goes live, this section will be rewritten to say exactly where a message goes and how long it is kept, and the date at the top of this page will move.

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences. The cookie policy says the same at greater length.

Talk recordings are embedded from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). The preview image is served from this site, not from YouTube, and nothing is sent to YouTube before you press play.

From the moment you press play, the player is Google’s, and Google’s own privacy terms apply inside it.

The GDPR gives you rights over personal data an organisation holds about you: to see it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and to take it elsewhere. This site holds none today — but the rights are yours regardless, and asking costs nothing. Reach us through the contact page.

If you believe SOHO Talks has mishandled your data, we would rather hear about it first. You also have the right, at any time, to complain to Malta’s Information and Data Protection Commissioner — the IDPC — at idpc.org.mt.

When the site changes what it does with data, this page changes first, and the date at the top moves with it. Nothing here is edited silently.
